    This position is part of a Professiona UHP Bargianing Unit. The benefits are:

UConn Health is searching for a highly skilled Staff Nurse CNII to join our patient-focused care team. This full-time position works with Interventional Radiology to cover fluoroscopy, CT and MRI biopsies and exams. This position is located in Farmington, CT.


At UConn Health, this class is responsible for independently performing a full range of tasks in providing nursing care to assigned patients. Guides and supervises assigned staff in the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with health care professionals in providing holistic patient care.

SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Rotating shifts with weekends, holidays, and on-call; 30-minute unpaid meal break


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Performs individualized nursing assessments for each assigned patient;

  • Organizes and coordinates patient care; collaborates with the health care team to implement patient care plans;

  • Develops and updates care plans utilizing established standards of care which include physician prescribed therapies and common nursing measures derived from disease related, therapy, and/or personal needs;

  • Communicates and educates patients and family members for a clear understanding of the care provided;

  • Completes required documentation in a timely manner according to policies and standards;

  • Contributes to the quality of nursing care through performance improvement;

  • Participates in staff and patient care conferences;

  • Assists in clinical education, orientation, and mentoring of other staff;

  • Performs related duties as required


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing;

  • Knowledge of relevant health center policies and procedures and State regulations

  • Knowledge of clinical standards of care, documentation and patient record policies and standards;

  • Understanding of computer-based applications;

  • Considerable interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Ability to work as an effective team member;

  • Ability to establish priorities and manage effectively.


EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

General Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.


Special Experience:

  • One (1) year professional nursing experience


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess and maintain licensure in the State of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse.

  • Must possess and maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

    • Other CPR/AED credentials may be accepted at hire but incumbents will be required to obtain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain through employment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing or an ADN/ASN and current enrollment in a BSN program.

  • Moderate sedation experience

  • Radiology experience

:

Incumbents in this class may be required to lift and restrain patients; may have exposure to communicable or infectious diseases and to risk of injury from assaultive or abusive clients; may be exposed to disagreeable conditions.

FULL TIME EQUIVALENT MINIMUM SALARY: $78,582.00
