Overview:
Responsible for the shipping, receiving, and issuing of spare parts from a maintenance parts storeroom. In addition, make computer entries to document all material movements in the SAP system. The storeroom consists of a perpetual maintenance and production inventory of over 15,00 items to backup plant operations. The storeroom storage areas consist of several on site storage locations. Other normal weekly duties include periodic inventory cycle counts and delivery of items to other storage areas.
Essential Functions:
- Receive and enter information into the computer regarding all incoming material shipments.
- Enter all goods issued.
- Review off shift and weekend tickets.
- Order extra stock when needed for jobs.
- Ship material for return or repair by UPS or freight line. This includes packing the material in a suitable fashion, strapping large items to pallets, and loading them on a truck safely and intact.
- Receive and re-stock shelves to support a perpetual maintenance and production inventory of over 15,000 items.
- Review delivery dates on open P. O’s.
- Issue items from inventory as necessary to support the requirements of the Maintenance and Production Departments.
- Keeping the inventory at a level that will allow the plant to run without interruption.
- Complete weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Write up repair and return forms.
- Get rid of obsolete parts and order new parts for obsolete items.
- Recycle bad bulbs and batteries.
- Inside shop cleanup and outside cleanup in stock areas.
- Assist other plants with questions and parts lookup.
- Assist supervisors with parts list for machines.
- Assist the guard with PO lookups.
- Sign for deliveries.
- Let departments know when items needed have arrived.
- Make sure contractors and suppliers adhere to the safety policies associated with a hazardous location.
- Interact with salesman, vendors, and employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- 2-5 years of industrial or retail inventory control preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude required
- Forklift experience required
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and lift up to 75 pounds
- Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to interact with suppliers and plant personnel
- Strong organizational skills and able to multi-task
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel required
Work Schedule:
- M-F 11a-7pm
- Standard with the availability to stay late on short notice to unload or load trucks that will not arrive on schedule. Overtime can be required during the year including during plant shutdowns
