Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

About our Summer Girl Scout Camp Program: Our on-site Summer Day Camps provide a safe space for girls to experience the summer and have continued educational exposure.
Position Summary: There are two Summer Day Camp Team Leader positions, allowing for four-day workweek scheduling and constant coverage of Camp Counselors, Junior Camp Counselors, and campers. The team leaders work with our full-time Programs and Education Manager to coordinate schedules, services, and supplies to support the 10-week summer camp program. The camp will consist of approximately 20-30 elementary-aged girls, 3 college interns, junior camp counselors (middle and high school girls), and occasional Girl Scout parent volunteers.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
· Plan and teach fun, hands-on, and impactful summer activities for Girl Scouts - Work with the Programs and Education Manager to develop and implement the 10 weeks summer camp curriculum using the Program Pillars and Girl Scout Leadership Experience as a model.
· Develop relationships with campers and families – Get to know the unique needs of each Girl Scout and ensure that we serve her in ways that are best for her learning, development, and enjoyment.
· Provide safe experiences for Girl Scouts – Apply risk management, safe activity guidelines, and council policies to lead safe programming for Girl Scouts.
· Coordinate on-site and off-site adventures and experiences – Coordinate special subject matter experts, program volunteers, literacy volunteers, transportation and field trip sites, and partners.
· Wear the four hats of leadership – Provide mentorship, coaching, training, and supervision for all Girl Scouts, camp counselors, interns, volunteers, and junior camp counselors.
· Provide general administration over the weekly camps – Supplies, budgets, scheduling, parent relationships, policies, guidelines, and general camp operations.
· Recruit episodic volunteers and subject matter experts within the community - Develop community partnerships to deliver impactful programming.
· Measure the summer camp program impact – Coordinate and manage weekly camper data, surveys, outcome observations, etc.
· Willing and able to be flexible enough to perform other duties as assigned, within reason.
Summer Day Camp Team Leader Criteria:
· Must be 21 years of age.
· Minimum of a high school graduate or GED equivalent.
· Documented experience working in a childcare-like environment (classroom, daycare, after-school care, summer camp, etc.)
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
· Must commit to a minimum of 35 hours a week for 10 weeks.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to rent a van and drive Girl Scouts on weekly field trips (All rental and gas expenses are paid by the Girl Scout Council).
· Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts.
· Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to staff, partners, volunteers, and campers.
· Adhere to all council personnel policies.
· Willing and able to receive job related training.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and moderately lift 10-20 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made with notice.
· Must be able to keep up with the pace of a youth day camp environment.
· Activities occur both inside and outside and the employee is subject to both environmental conditions; however, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
