Sunday Servics Technology Facilitator
Job Title: Technology Facilitator
Reports to: Minister
Classification: Part-time, averaging 3 hours a week, 39 weeks (early September to mid-June).
Compensation is $19-$21/hour based on skills and experience.
Schedule: Averaging 3 hours/week, including Sunday mornings (9:30 am-12:00 pm). Pool of 25 additional hours to support special programs as arranged in advance.
Location: Onsite strongly preferred. Offsite considered.
JOB SUMMARY:
In support of the mission and covenant of First Parish in Wayland, the Technology Facilitator will work with the staff and lay leaders to manage the technology for multiplatform (hybrid) Sunday services as well as additional multiplatform programming as arranged in advance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as technical “Host” for Sunday Services using Zoom and YouTube using a Mac mini.
- Manage onsite and online audio levels and video cameras to follow service elements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during live services, including issues experienced by end users on a range of platforms (mac/pc, android/ios, etc.) as well as onsite audio feedback or video camera malfunction.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lightly edit service recording and upload to YouTube as needed.
- Communicate reliably with First Parish Staff and lay leaders about upcoming services.
- Follow state, local, and employer health and safety precautions related to Covid.
- Support additional online or multiplatform programs as needed and available.

Qualifications:
- Able to quickly be proficient with current platforms (Zoom and YouTube), including hosting and livestreaming.
- Experience working with video cameras and sound systems.
- A passion for technology and problem-solving to make it all “look smooth” for the participants/viewers.
- An open, collaborative person who works well on a team and is comfortable leading in employee’s area of responsibility.
- If offsite, access to reliable, fast internet for stable meetings.
