About the Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Supervisor to join our Day Support Services based in Dundee. We are looking for a qualified practitioner with strong experience of working directly with people who have complex health care or communication needs and can guide, lead and motivate a team to deliver high-quality person-centred care, leading by example of best social care practice.

For this post we require candidates to be able to register with SSSC as a Supervisor and you would be required to hold and SVQ 3 Social Care or be just about to obtain this for registration.

Each person supported is unique and we work in partnership with them, their friends and families and associated health and social work professionals to help overcome everyday challenges and plan for a positive future. You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to carry out individualised direct personal care, be confident in dealing with complex challenging behaviour and be able to support the staff team to help the people we support to reach their goals on a daily basis.

About You

This role could be for you if:

  • You have experience with working in large, flexible teams within a social care setting
  • You can be flexible- able to work days, evenings, weekends, night shift
  • You have experience of supporting culture change in the work environment
  • You have strong IT and office organisation skills
  • You have excellent knowledge and experience of person-centred practice
  • You have the ability to coach and mentor staff
  • You can challenge poor or unsafe practice and to champion good practice and person-centred support for the individuals’ using services.
  • You have excellent communication skills to relay complex and challenging information
  • You hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or other specialty recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes and must be able to meet and maintain the appropriate SSSC registration requirements and conditions for a Supervisor in a Care at Home / Housing Support Service.
