HonorHealth is a non-profit, local community healthcare system serving an area of 1.6 million people in the greater Phoenix area. Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Supervisor – Registration Admitting is responsible for the supervision of the daily operations specific to their department (s). The supervisor oversees and directs work team's production and performance to ensure proper utilization and effectiveness of assigned staff. They are responsible for defining and delegating team member responsibilities to the appropriate staff in order to ensure a smooth, accurate workflow. This position ensures appropriate daily staffing levels for all positions, may maintain and monitor staff timekeeping, job performance in terms of accuracy and quality. This position will ensure staff compliance with department and network policies and procedures. May establish and conduct employee training in collaboration with the business need of the department and support leadership in daily operations.
Supervises and monitors daily staff performance, staffing levels, and maintains accurate records. Assist in hiring, training, evaluating and personnel development, including corrective action when necessary. Assist in department processes and improvements. May lead huddles and or staff meetings to ensure an open line of communication with staff and leadership.
Completes all daily, weekly and monthly reports and assigned work queues as required. Ensures new processes are rolled out timely and performs periodic quality reviews to ensure compliance (analyzes, tracks and audits production).
Ensures that the highest level of customer service is extended with internal and external customers. Works collaboratively with other departments. Fosters communication with physician’s office and hospital referral coordinators. Visit provider offices and hospitals as needed to facilitate scheduling accuracy.
May plan, schedule, and implement training and education of employees to achieve performance standards and expectations. Mentors and develops staff on an individual basis.
May act as a financial steward and works with Patient Financial Services to ensure adequate knowledge for interpretation of patient billing questions. Maintains knowledge of current federal regulations regarding admission and registration procedures and ensures adherence to those guidelines. Informs staff of point of services collection goals monthly; monitors to ensure that collections goals are met; reviews collection results and missed opportunities with staff in their monthly one on ones. Balances and documents point of service collections as required.
Stays current with knowledge for HIPAA, Federal regulations, state regulations and hospital policy regarding admission and registration procedures and reimbursement criteria. May attend departmental meetings and payer in-services in order to enhance communications within departments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience
2 years customer service experience or front office experience in medical practice/medical billing/registration/financial setting, including one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role Required
4 years financial operations/healthcare related supervisor experience/healthcare patient financial services. Required
