Job Summary: The Surgeon-in-Chief oversees the Surgical Department which consists of the Divisions of Bariatric Surgery, Colon & Rectal Surgery, Dermatology, General Surgery, Neurological Surgery, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Otolaryngology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Plastic & Reconstruction Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery

esponsibilities:
• The Surgeon-in-Chief is responsible for overall leadership of all divisions.
• The Chief represents the interests of the Department both internally as part of the Leadership of the Medical Center, and in the community.
• The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and leadership skills, will be a willing mentor, and will enjoy representing Bassett in interactions within our eight-county region.
• With a faculty appointment from Columbia University, there is daily interaction with medical students as well as General Surgery Residents, Transitional Residents and with the Multi-Specialty Surgical Post Graduate PA Program

• MD/DO
• BE/BC
• NYS Licensure
• Demonstrated experience in leadership roles
• Strong record of skills in administration, including finance and strategic planning
