Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee, develop, and manage the team that deploys network services throughout New York City, Westchester county, Orange & Rockland territory, and other data centers in the United States
  • Install network communications covering all company locations such as business offices, data centers, and locations that support our gas, steam, and electric customers
  • Collaborate with other managers and subject matter experts to budget, plan, and execute projects
  • Review incoming project scopes and solutions and assign to subject matter experts for execution. Project scopes will include routing, switching, WAN/Internet/cloud circuits, Wi-Fi, and cellular modems.
  • Ensure that network solutions are properly engineered, implemented, documented, and transitioned to support teams
  • Review change proposals for technical accuracy and business impact
  • Develop "Day Two" capabilities for automation, monitoring, and support to minimize operational issues after project handoff
  • Balance long-term network improvements with short-term project workload within the available time and budget
  • Standardize the network equipment parts lists to meet technical needs of connected equipment and align with industry trends
  • Write, review, and ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures
  • Create roadmap for network automation capabilities
  • Must be available to work off-hours as required to support deployments or respond to corporate emergencies
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and minimum of (8) years of IT experience or
  • Master's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and minimum of (6) years of IT experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and minimum of (8) years of IT experience

Relevant Work Experience

  • Hands-on progressively increasing responsibilities in network engineering and management Required
  • Demonstrated results implementing new technologies, automating processes, reducing technology costs, and/or improving service quality Required
  • Practical application of cybersecurity principles for secure IT infrastructure operations Required
  • Moderate to advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Visio, or other Office tools Required

Skills & Ability

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent collaboration and team building skills

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Physical Demands

  • Must push, pull, lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for entire shift
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to use hands for entire shift
  • Must stoop, bend, reach and kneel throughout the workday
  • Must be able to read small print and symbols.

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, gloves, and safety shoes when required
