Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a leadership position for a Circularity Technical Program Manager. This position is based in Richmond, Virginia at our Reinhart Technical Center. The Technical Program Manager will be a part of Carpenter Co.'s technical Circular Economy team, leading both internal projects and joint projects with outside partners. The position will oversee and work with a multi-disciplinary team to plan, execute, track, and provide analysis/recommendations on technical projects related to evaluating novel sustainable raw materials, manufacturing footprint, design for recycling, and end-of-life. The successful candidate will be able to rapidly and effectively move projects from ideation to proof-of-concept to pilot to commercialization. A knowledge of Circular Economy principles would be beneficial, as well as an understanding of product footprint and Life Cycle Analysis technical concepts.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Technical partner interface (on joint projects)
• Provide technical project planning
• Provide tools for project execution
• Provide technical analysis of results
• Provide routine updates to research group and Senior Management on project updates/milestones
• Provide technical information needed for regulatory assessments

• 
  Master's degree in Chemistry or Engineering
• 5+ years of industrial experience
• Advanced project management experience
• Extensive background in interacting with suppliers, industry leaders, customers
• Extensive background in working in a technical team environment
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills; preferred experience in performing presentations at large industry conferences or equivalent
• Knowledge of Circular Economy principles, product footprint and Life Cycle Analysis technical concepts
• Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently
• Strong strategic and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to travel 10-15%
