What's the Job
Reporting to the Director of Organizational Knowledge & Effectiveness, the Training Manager is focused on assessing the development needs of both our plant-based and corporate-based employee populations in order to improve and implement learning and development initiatives that enhance competencies and capabilities of our workforce. In addition, this position evaluates effectiveness through performance metrics aligned to key learning outcomes for both the hourly and salaried workforce populations.
The incumbent will need to utilize their broad base of knowledge in adult learning principles (L&D) within large, heavily matrixed organization in order to successfully carry out group goals. The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Reviewing existing training programs and suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of learners, the business, or the organization
- Evaluate and measure effectiveness of key learning initiatives (courses, programs, etc.)
- Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry
- Conduct or facilitate required and recommended training sessions
- Manage multi-month development programs
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs
- Ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget
- Partner with Compliance team and the group to launch, monitor, and track compliance trainings for North America
- Responsible for the successful execution of Corporate Social Responsibility reporting for North America
Position manages one direct report and will travel approximately 20% to plant locations around North America.

What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources related field; Master's Degree preferred
- 5-7 years’ direct experience in an HR/learning & development organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of training processes
- Ability to moderate both large and small groups of both hourly and salary populations
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, eLearning software, or related software
