BPN Staffing Solutions is seeking a Transfusion Safety Officer to fulfill a 13-week travel contract at a facility in Macon, GA

Description:

This position is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the Blood Utilization and Management Program (B.M.P.). Works in collaboration with Quality, Risk Management, Medical Staff, Lab/Blood Bank, Pharmacy, Nursing and Patient Care Services Leadership, and the Blood Management Committee (B.M.C.) in order to meet the set goals. Facilitates the appropriate use of blood products as defined by evidence-based transfusion indicators and promote optimal safety of transfusion processes.

Essential Functions:

• Acts as a liaison between the clinical partners in the transfusion process and as an advocate for the recipients of the blood products.
• Prepares and/or presents educational material and scientific data to support the evidence-based blood utilization and safety mission of the Blood Management Committee (BMC) and the Blood Utilization and Management Program (B.M.P.).
• Executes audits of transfusion-related clinical performance/documentation and/or the analysis and dissemination of such audit results to the proper recipients.
• Compiles, analyzes, utilizes, and presents data in a meaningful way to support positive practice changes in blood utilization and safety.

Skills:

• Requires computer knowledge. Windows application: Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and Access or other database management applications.
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with the physician staff.
• Requires ability to maintain quality working relationship with physician staff and peers.

Education:

• Prefer a B.S. in Nursing or B.S. in Medical Technology.
• Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
• Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $125.00 per hour
