Housekeeper Job Description

Valley View Garden Apartments located in New Brighton, PA is seeking to hire a housekeeper/porter to join our team! You will enjoy a busy work environment, PTO (accruing 11 days your first year), company paid medical insurance, paid holidays, and yearly bonuses/increases based on the companies overall growth!!

You will be responsible for cleaning common areas, cleaning laundry rooms, cleaning vacant apartments, disposing of trash, and notifying maintenance of any issues. You should be able to lift 25-30 pounds and have an eye for cleanliness.

Housekeeper Responsibilities:

• Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop and polish floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
• Notify managers of necessary repairs.
• Collect trash and clean trash containers. Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
• Vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies.
• Shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery.
• Dust furniture and clean metal fixtures and fittings.
• Clean wash basins, mirrors, laundry equipment.
• Wipe down glass surfaces on entrance doors
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
• Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements.
• Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators.
• Follow all company safety and security procedures.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
• Observe and report damage of property.

Housekeeper Requirements:

• Ability to manage your time efficiently.
• Work well unsupervised.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with tenants.
• Hard worker.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods.
• Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.
• Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
• ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs).
