Job Summary
The Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and repairs all Homewood vehicles including trucks, loaders, snowmobiles, ATV’s, busses, shuttles, grooming machines as well as the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following but not limited to:
  • Promotes and exemplifies the Homewood culture of exceptional guest service, team work, innovation, and fun! Works well independently and with others. Asks questions, shares concerns, or gives ideas on innovation and efficiencies that improve both the guests’ and employees’ experience.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all Homewood vehicles.
  • Keeps records of all work completed.
  • Records all parts used and orders parts needed for repairs and for general use (consumables)
  • Communicates effectively with all departments including the Director of Base Operations via phone, text, email and verbally.
  • Operates machines to test.
  • Snow removal as required.

  • Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Ensures the Vehicle Maintenance department and employees are in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).
  • Snow removal as required.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises each employee in the Vehicle Maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability desirable.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience driving over-the-snow vehicles (snowmobiles and groomers) highly desirable.
  • Personal tools for work required.
  • Welding, fabricating skills highly desirable
  • Language Skills:
  • Literate and fluent in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Additional language(s) desirable.
  • Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, area, circumference, and volume to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, mathematical, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Leadership role or management of employees and/or a business desirable
  • Prior ski resort or hospitality experience desirable.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registration:
  • Valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by Homewood’s insurance carrier.

Employment with Homewood Mountain Resort is “at will” for no definite period of time
