Summary:
The position is responsible for the management of financial accountability and accurate recordkeeping of the financial records of United Way of Racine County in compliance with standards of non-profit accounting and as set forth by the organization, and as required by United Way Worldwide. Position is also responsible for information technology management and office management systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work of this position. The list is not meant to be exhaustive or restrictive. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain all corporate financial records, payroll, cash, investments, accounts payable, allocations and pledges receivable in accordance with “Standards of Accounting and Financial Reporting for Voluntary Health and Welfare Organizations”, approved by the AICPA and FASB, and in accordance with policies and procedures of United Way of Racine County.
- Prepare and monitor financial projections for the corporation annually and as appropriate to the needs of the organization, including the development and maintenance of the Central Services and Initiative budgets for United Way of Racine County.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and yearly audit and financial analysis of reports.
- Prepare timely file required government reports.
- Responsible for organization payroll
- Provide staff leadership in the processing of all campaign pledges and designations in the annual campaign.
- Responsible for set up and processing of electronic pledge campaigns.
- Develop and maintain fiscal policies and procedures for United Way of Racine County.
- Provide technical assistance to the agencies and to United Way of Racine County volunteers and staff in the areas of finance and budgeting.
- Responsible for fiscal management and reporting of initiatives, grants and special collaborative projects and programs. Member of the governance committee for Family Smart/Kid Friendly and Children’s Trust Fund grant.
- Provide leadership in supporting the administrative capacity, office communication and office management aspects of United Way of Racine County.
- Support President in all areas of administration and provide general support in all areas as member of leadership team.
- Work with President and Treasurer to maintain United Way Worldwide Standards.
- Attend meetings including: Board, Finance, Executive, Personnel, Community Investment and Community Committee
- Perform all duties as necessary in the absence of the President

Education/Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Finance or equivalent experience in management of complex fiscal operations and five years’ experience in a management position related to job duties
- Willingness to work varied hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
Computer Skills.
Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software applications including email, Internet and Microsoft Office, with particular skill in accounting software packages.
Supervisory Responsibilities.
Directly manages Finance Assistant and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with United Way of Racine County policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include initial screening, interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Benefits and Other CompensationThe Vice President and Finance and Administration salary is $75,000 - $80,000 plus benefits. United Way offers excellent benefits that include health, and dental coverage, vacation and other paid time off, life insurance, retirement plan, and much more.
