Bethel University has an opening for a full-time Video Content Specialist, who will be a highly motivated and creative storyteller, responsible for producing dynamic and engaging video content for the university's social media platforms and website.
This position will work with the Offices of Admission, Marketing & Communication and Student Life to effectively promote and market Bethel University to prospective students. Equipment includes a Sony mirrorless camera, lenses, LED lights, tripod, gimble, MacBook Pro, RAID storage drive, among other items.
Primary Functions:
- Conceptualize (20%), shoot (30%), and edit (50%) video content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube (Both short clips and longer packages; interviews and b-roll)
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to present a positive image of Bethel University through digital and video content
- Aid in developing marketing strategies targeting prospective students through social media and website
- Manage video projects from start to finish to meet deadlines
- Publish video content in different formats that engages the proper target market
- Stay up to date with social media and video trends, as well as industry standards and trends within the higher education marketing sector
- Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing & Communications teams to produce social media videos that target prospective students
- Work with Admissions and Marketing & Communications teams to develop videos and video elements for the university's website
- Collaborate with Student Life to collect and capture authentic student stories highlighting campus life and the culture of Bethel University
- Work with Student Life to create template videos introducing chapel speakers each week
Secondary Functions:
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to produce videos that expand awareness of Bethel's brand and reputation
- Collaborate with Student Life to create video solutions to promote programming and events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in new media studies, digital media studies, videography, or related field
- Marketing/communications background preferred
- One to three years of related experience
- Experience and knowledge of video production including shooting, editing, lighting, color correction and audio editing
- Understanding of how to manually operate a DSLR camera
- Understanding of basic art and design principles
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Affects (DaVinci Resolve an equivalent substitute)
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Proficiency with cameras and video production equipment
- Photography experience a plus
