Visiting Assistant Professor of Criminology or Psychology

Chatham University has an opening for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Criminology or Psychology in the undergraduate criminology and psychology programs for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for teaching eight courses over the academic year. Courses will include Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Social Psychology, History of Crime and Punishment, upper-level course electives applicable to both programs and appropriate to candidate subfield specialization. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teaching a 4/4 load.
• Engaging in campus community and program service.

Qualifications:

• Earned a Ph.D. or defended dissertation in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, or psychology. A.B.D. candidates may be considered.
• University-level Teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to approach the subject matter in an interdisciplinary manner.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and commitment to contributing to an inclusive campus community. Candidates should describe their experience in these arenas in their cover letter and teaching statement.
