Warehouse Inventory Controller
Job description
We are looking for a team-oriented Inventory Controller with the ability to use a computerized database system, capture and verify material and product movement throughout the warehouse operation while organizing outbound shipping and receiving.
Inventory Controller accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records
The Inventory Controller scrutinize inventory movements, search for discrepancies, and troubleshoot discrepancies in inventory movements and counts.
The Inventory Controller verifies inventory records through executing and leading cycle counts and scheduled inventory counts. - Receiving
Receive raw materials and manufacturing supplies, accurate capture material movement.
Allocate storage locations and bins for received materials ensuring first-in first-out practices are maintained. - Product movement
Verify production transfers to the warehouse.
Allocate product storage location and bins, ensuring first-in first-out practices are maintained. Proactive planning of space allocation based on the production schedule.
Verify and sign off loads prior to shipping.
Verify material and ingredient transfers to production. - Load planning
Process purchase orders and sales requests, collect and analyze data then develop appropriate order make-up, pick-up and delivery schedules.
Plan loads to be made up and generate load requests.
Continuous communication with warehouse associates to ensure efficient and on time in full load preparation.
Prepare bills of lading and communicate with customers.
Education
- Minimum requirement: GED
- Preferred: Formal training in inventory management
Work Experience
- A minimum of 2-years’ experience working in inventory management and logistics.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in using a computerized database system.
- Experience in a high volume distribution or manufacturing industry.

- Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
- Good attention to detail
- A strong work ethic and hands-on approach
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability
- Excellent inventory management and record keeping skills
- Must have a positive and “can do” attitude
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds.
- High mental and visual attention required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product. AND/OR extremely close visual attention such as making delicate adjustments to control high speed operations to exercise very precise muscular control.
