Main aim of job

To support serial production welding equipment in achieving technical/organization downtime, quality rate and performance efficiency targets.

Specific duties and responsibilities (max. 10)

  • Direct production support of both Laser and Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) welding processes
  • Completing variant changeovers as directed by the production planner
  • Set-up and maintenance of:

o Poke Yoke systems

o Laser welding process monitoring system (4D)

o Vision detection software (VMT)

  • Adjustment of the welding process through modification to the robot coordinates
  • Completion of process audit on a daily basis
  • Identify, root cause negative influences on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through identification of production constraints (ex. Scrap rate, technical downtime, organizational downtime and performance efficiency)
  • Product quality validation (Dimensional, weld penetrations and strength testing)
  • Ability to clearly communicate production issues to Maintenance, Weld Technologist, third party technical support, Quality Department and Production Managers
  • Training of new team members (Weld Technicians)
  • Responsible for adhering to Brose policies and standards with respect to quality and environmental requirements
  • Must be flexible for shift rotations, overtime and weekend work as determined by production demands
  • Other duties as defined by supervisor

  • Ability to read and interpret product prints, dimensional reports (GD&T)
  • Robotic experience
  • Excellent Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
