We are looking for an experienced Word Processor to join our team! In this role, you will provide timely and accurate document processing support utilizing Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) standards and formats to produce workers' compensation legal decisions, rulings and orders so that timeliness of issuance is maintained, establishing program and policy objectives that contribute to accomplishing the strategic mission of IWD.

• 
  Prepares letters, reports and other correspondence/documents from transcription dictation, rough draft, or electronic file so that timeliness and accuracy are maintained.
• Completes special assignments/projects so that the standards of quality, timeliness and availability are met, and policies adhered to.
• Completes other duties or special projects as assigned by the Workers' Compensation Commissioner or Assistant Workers' Compensation Commissioner
• Maintain standards of quality, timeliness and adhere to policies and procedures to complete the duties of the Workers' Compensation Commissioner as set forth in the Iowa Workers' Compensation Laws.
• Assists in training new employees through the demonstration and application of workers' compensation word processing and file management procedures.
• Complies with established Agency policies so that the Agency may operate in an orderly and efficient manner.
• Word processing support of legal actions before the Iowa Workers' Compensation Commissioner

• Must be able to use a keyboard-controlled personal computer to produce work timely and accurately.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Manages details and deadlines
• Produces quality work in error-free manner

Experience equal to two years of full-time work involving word processing functions such as: text editing and formatting, document storage and retrieval, and document merging;

All positions require the ability to type at least 40 WPM NET as demonstrated by the completion of a typing examination authorized by the Iowa Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources Enterprise.
