Job description

In order to make this a full-time position with benefits, we are combining the Youth Pastor and Worship Pastor positions. The salary includes free housing.

Youth Pastor Position responsibilities:

• Lead students from 6th– 12th grade into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible teaching, mentorship and life example
• Coordinate and lead Wednesday night youth meetings along with other events including but not limited to Sunday school, Bible studies, camps, outreach, etc.
• Care for, spend time with and disciple students from grades 6th through 12th
• Recruit and equip volunteers and student leaders who will minister to and disciple other students
• Communicate effectively with parents about the ministry
• Create a welcoming environment that challenges students to grow in their faith, service and leadership abilities
• Actively make an effort to ensure the growth and health of the ministry
• Coordinate fundraising opportunities for additional expenses (summer camp, missions trips)
• Attend occasional staff meetings and participate in planning and implementing church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church

Worship Pastor Position responsibilities:

• Lead dynamic and engaging worship at our contemporary Sunday morning service and other occasional special events
• Identify, recruit, equip and lead band members for Sunday morning worship
• Cultivate a heart of worship among the congregation
• Lead practice with band once per week
• Attend occasional staff meetings and participate in planning and implementing church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church
• 5-10 hours per week

Youth Pastor Position Requirements:

• Strong and consistent personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Commitment to the mission and vision of Island Community Church
• Passion for teaching and leading students
• Highly motivated to carry out vision of the student ministry
• Ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships
• At least 3 years of experience as a youth pastor

Worship Pastor Position Requirements

• Strong and consistent personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Commitment to the mission and vision of Island Community Church
• Proficiency in leading worship vocally
• Ability to work well as a team
• Knowledge of Pro-Presenter, CCLI, Planning Center, A/V preferred but not required

Salary: $35,000-$40,000 plus free housing in a 2/2 house.
