Agate Software, Inc. is a leader in implementing and maintaining Grant Management Systems for state and local government across the country. We have recently pivoted towards an aggressive growth mindset with a dedicated team focused on identifying and executing new initiatives to sell our IntelliGrants product.

The primary responsibility of this position is to execute the sales process in support of Business Development initiatives. This could involve selling new products or selling our current products to a different market than those that we are currently pursuing. To be successful as an Account Manager, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of CRM software, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, superior customer service skills, strong business acumen, and adept problem-solving skills.

The successful person for this role will have the ability to speak over the phone and face to face with clients (employees within state agencies) and be a point of escalation for the implementation teams. The Account Manager will foster favorable relationships with stakeholders, execute the sales cycle, meet with in-house project teams, prepare sales reports, etc. The Account Manager will be assigned a territory to develop relationships and sell business development initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Executes the sales cycle for Business Development initiatives
  • Develops and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with new and existing clients
  • Manages accounts and tracks account targets to secure long-term success
  • Establishes good rapport with clients
  • Resolves customer issues/problems
  • Develops new sales opportunities
  • Meets regularly with internal project team and sits on status calls with clients
  • Monitors sales and prepares reports on accounts and transactions
  • Attends industry events, conferences, trade shows
  • Creates sales quotations on software enhancements and new business
  • Sustains and renews existing client contracts
  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3- 5 Years of proven experience in a sales position
  • Knowledge of sales metrics
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures
  • Leverage experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to multitask and think outside the box
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Public Sector Experience
  • Experience selling Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Grants management software sales cycle
  • Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Experience with software sales process

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Business, Marketing or similar subjects preferred
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for 4-year degree

**The annual base salary for this role is $40,000-$60,000 per year and is commensurate with experience. In addition to a base salary commission is earned on each client invoice received. Commission rates vary based on the service the client pays for. There is no cap on commissions, so earning potential is unlimited.
