Job description
The successful applicant will have teaching responsibilities which may include on-campus, off-campus, and online instruction; field-based competency testing, support and observation for beginning teachers in comprehensive high schools, county and multi-county technical education centers, institutional educational facilities, and community-based education centers. The faculty member must maintain office hours to collaborate with other faculty, to communicate with local school administrators, advise and counsel student teachers, participate in program work sessions, meetings, planning and development, curriculum revision, scholarship, professional development, professional societies, and service to the university and community. Work sessions may be scheduled, or on-call, in-person at rotating locations, or conducted via TEAMS or other electronic platforms. Requires extensive travel, self-direction, accountability, flexible scheduling, and reporting, walking on expansive statewide school campuses, and frequent lifting and moving of instructional equipment and materials.
Positions are located on the South Charleston and Beckley campuses.
Location OTHR - Other Off-Campus Location Salary Range Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and funding in the current WVDE CTE Teacher Prep and Certification Grant.

Required Qualifications
Education
Candidate must hold an earned master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education or related area, hold (or is eligible for) a West Virginia professional or career technical teaching license, present evidence of successful teaching experience in a secondary or adult career technical program, and demonstrate instructional technology proficiency.
Experience
- Knowledge and experience using technology-based instruction, use self-direction, and demonstrate professional level of language, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Works as a team member as assigned by the director of the WV CTE Teacher Prep and Certification Program.
- Successful teaching experience in a secondary or adult career technical education program, evidence of collaboration and networking with other CTE teachers and school administrators, general knowledge of West Virginia CTE Teacher Certification, and the related policies and initiatives of the West Virginia Department of Education.

Experience
- Preferred qualifications include evidence of successful county and state school system administrative experience, program development and evaluation experience, teaching and/or administrative experience with at-risk student populations, School Administrator Certification, prior demonstrated skills in management of a large education organization.
- Experience as a school administrator, teaching diverse and special populations, program and curriculum management, knowledge of West Virginia CTE Teaching Certification and Employment policies, prior experience resolving sensitive personnel situations, experience in implementing national or state education initiatives and best practices for career and technical education
