The Harbors of Fridley is looking for compassionate and reliable individuals committed to a career in long term care. Working as a member of the medical team for our nursing home, you will have the opportunity to work with a group of people who need your attention and support. The ideal candidate for this position is certified in first aid, CPR and basic life support, and has a background working in medical facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Use good judgment when interacting with residents.
• Care for residents in a manner that meet their needs and desires while protecting their rights.
• Recognize the need for and practice the use of Advance Directives.
• Set up a new resident in the room and be familiar with routine care.
• Work in accordance with patient rights laws.
• Have a strong understanding of disease process.
• Know the meaning of detailed medical procedures.
• Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence while assisting them with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per individualized care plan.
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration as instructed. Report changes or concerns to the RN.
• Document services performed on computerized charting system.
• Observe resident and report any changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, reaction, and appetite, to the supervisor.
• Assist the resident with personal care which may include the following: shampooing of hair, assist with showering/ bathing, fingernail and foot care, and medication administration
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
