JOB SUMMARY:
The Construction Project Scheduler works closely with our customers, building contractors, Midmark Field Project Managers, and Midmark Customer Experience and Logistics teams. This position is directly responsible for delivering on our customer satisfaction objectives through planning, leading and coordinating various resources for many simultaneous construction projects.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Develops, implements, updates, and executes Microsoft Project construction schedules
- Implements an effective scheduling management system
- Consults with field project managers and technical experts to set up assignments and tasks
- Coordinates deliveries of equipment based on the project schedule and work advancement
- Coordinates project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Monitors project timelines and deadlines
- Identifies potential project schedule delays and facilitates intervention in a timely manner
- Evaluates performance and prepares project progress reports
- Keeps stakeholders informed of project timelines and deadlines
- Communicates effectively among peers, sub-contractors, and clients
- Coordinates weekly/monthly project construction meetings
- Provides expertise and project management knowledge to drive continuous improvement
- Develops, implements and trains on processes and work instruction,
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Receives and reviews design and quote information packages for consistency and completeness
- Integrates multiple design and quote information packages and develops detailed executional plans and other deliverables for the field labor, supervision and subcontracts
- Ensures technical and quote information files and drawing files are maintained
- Develops labor and material takeoffs for change orders
- Reconciles purchase order to subcontracts and statements-of-work
- Schedules crews and daily tracking of progress
- Monitors field efforts to confirm schedule adherence
- Performs schedule impact analysis for change orders
- Interprets and resolves design and quote discrepancies, interferences, etc. (coordinate field instructions between the craft and office personnel)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business, technical or construction management field. 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must need no assistance building Microsoft Project Construction Schedules
- Must be able to travel to various construction sites as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Accurately able to read blueprints & shop drawings
- Understanding of Lean Principles preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills
- Process oriented, proactive, and customer-focused
- Strong problem solving skills
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision
- Salesforce CRM experience desired
- Logistics & transportation industry knowledge desired
