Job description
ESI’s Superintendent leads the project team with safety, subcontractor supervision, quality control, utility coordination, daily field supervision, city official coordination, and material deliveries. They are responsible for achieving project milestones and monitoring subcontractor resources. They work directly with the Lead Superintendent (if there is a higher ranking superintendent onsite), Project Manager, and Project Engineer to coordinate and direct all field activities of the project, as well as with the owner, architect, and engineers. They demonstrate a high level of leadership, represent ESI professionally, and are Dedicated, Dependable, and Dynamic.

QUALIFICATIONS
Safety
· Be committed to the Relentless Pursuit of Safety
General
· Recommended 5 or more years’ experience in the construction industry as an Assistant Superintendent or higher.
· Experience running Commercial, K-12/Higher Education, Retail and Grocery projects as the Lead Superintendent.
· Project sizes from $1M up to $25M
· General knowledge of building construction, materials, means and methods, scheduling, construction drawings and specifications.
· General carpentry skills, use of power tools.
· Demonstrates leadership, integrity, perseverance, reliability, respect and self-discipline.
· Demonstrates personal motivation, initiative, and potential for growth.
· Can work independently with minimal supervision and limited direction.
· Must be able to effectively collaborate with the project superintendent and team to plan and accomplish goals.
· SWPPP certification (desired).
Travel Requirements:
· Travel required based on project location and Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Delivers First Choice Service to the customer and client.
· Supports the General Foreman position to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
· Quality Control – Communicate quality expectations to subordinates.
· Document Control – Comprehensive knowledge of construction plans and specifications, assures work is being built from the correct drawings.
· Comprehend a Critical Path Schedule and contribute to the development of a workable short interval schedule
· Directly oversee multiple General Foremen and associated sub-contractors.
· Working knowledge of Labor Law and Agency Compliance.
· Contract Knowledge – Prime contract and subcontracts/purchase orders.
· Subcontractor Management/Schedule Communication.
· Ability to conduct weekly coordination meetings with sub-contractors.
· Develop and communicate look ahead schedule.
· Manage labor, budget and General Conditions.
· Efficiently manage rental equipment.
· Support field staffing and General Foreman during absence.
· Communicates expectations and enforces policies, completes and submits records, develops/modifies JHA’s for the project, provides JHA training at appropriate stages of the project.
· Identifies needs for training and communicates with Safety Team to ensure training is completed prior to reaching the stage of work that training will be required for.
