Summary

The CQI Operations Strategic Advisor will provide ongoing strategic input and guidance. The advisor will continue to refine the CQI strategic framework and annual objectives in partnership with the BCBSM Value Partnerships team.

Responsibilities*

• Lead the development of a refreshed strategic framework and accompanying action plan for the Collaborative Quality Initiative Portfolio
• Support initial implementation planning and serve in a lead capacity to ensure effective rollout
• Track specified key performance indicators and assess progress of the CQIO strategic framework against intended outputs and outcomes
• Provide ongoing strategic input and guidance to the wider CQIO team to support both short-term and long-term operations
• Serve in an “as needed” consulting capacity to support individual CQI strategic planning
• Drive the continued evaluation of individual CQI-led initiatives through the delivery of detailed return on investment assessments
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Relevant experience developing organizational strategy
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills, including experience facilitating or leading change
• Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, meeting facilitation, presentation, written, listening, and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to adapt to and lead a team through a changing environment
• Knowledge of health care delivery including patient flow (inpatient, procedural, ambulatory care), health care operations and payment models
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint software
• Ability to travel within the state of Michigan

Desired Qualifications*

• Master’s degree in Business, Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing or Allied Health
• Prior experience working with the BCBSM sponsored CQI program and CQI related contracts
• Familiarity with BCBSM CQI Statements of Work and Budget process
• Demonstrated performance improvement success
• Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies/procedures and organizational structure

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
