Your Opportunity

Techsource is hiring a full-time Senior Technical Business Analyst to create complex data reports and automations for the Department of Energy Office of Project Management (DOE-PM). You will work with complex project management data and create custom reports using R or Python, pulling data from SQL databases. You’ll use your AI and Machine Learning experience in this role. You will also work remotely, with occasional visits to the Germantown, MD office (monthly at most) and travel within the DC region, when required, to meet with stakeholders. (Only individuals who live in the DC area will be considered for this opportunity.)

What You Will Do

• Develop complex SQL queries and create custom reports using R or Python.
• Use your AI or Machine Learning experience to create innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and transform them into technical specifications.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
• Integrate with existing cloud infrastructure team to identify the best tools to meet user needs, including integration with Azure government cloud infrastructure and tools.
• Follow cybersecurity best practices to protect sensitive government data.
• Become an expert in Earned Value Management (EVM) as implemented by the Department of Energy, and turn that expertise towards creating innovative reports and dashboards.

What You Will Need

• 8 or more years of professional experience as a technical business analyst, data analyst, or a similar role.
• Experience in SQL and R or Python for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
• AI or Machine Learning applications experience or training/coursework in that area.
• Business communication skills and ability to interact well with non-technical users to provide reports and explain results.
• Experience operating independently without close supervision to take appropriate actions to provide the best outcome to clients.
• Certifications in Data Analytics, Technical Reporting, EVM, or Project Management a plus.
• Must be a US citizen, due to BAO (Building Access Only) badging for government facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
