IT Director - Security Virginia beach,VA (Hands on)

Position Overview:
The Director of Information Technology (IT) Security is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity and IT risk management program. This candidate will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage the risk to the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity and confidentiality.

General Functions:

  • Provides the direction for data and cybersecurity protection, and oversees Technology governance and policies.
  • Develops security strategy and awareness programs, architecture, and security incident response.
  • Provides strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
  • Educates IT users on appropriate security risk and mitigation strategies
  • Develops, maintains and publishes up-to-date security policies, standards and guidelines. Oversees training and dissemination of IT security policies and practices.
  • Evaluates new cybersecurity threats and IT trends and develops effective security controls.
  • Develops and oversees disaster recovery policies to align with company business, and program goals.
  • Evaluates potential security breaches, coordinates response, and recommends corrective actions
  • Supervises the IT Coordinator in the performance of the job duties.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry and regulatory trends
  • Manages all CCTV cameras, servers and phone systems
  • Manages Offsite disaster recovery
  • Building access systems /card readers
  • Maintains audio and visual equipment
  • Maintains all physical and virtual servers.
  • Maintains all hardware software licensing and warranties

Essential Functions:

  • Implement and/or maintain VMWare infrastructures.
  • Experience with Storage Area Networks, and data backup plans.
  • Develop and oversee disaster recovery plans and policies to align with business continuity program goals.
  • Microsoft Active Directory system administration experience
  • Microsoft Windows Server file/directory permission administration experience
  • Microsoft Group Policy administration experience.
  • Microsoft Windows Server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. (DNS, DHCP, AD, etc.)
  • Microsoft Azure administration experience
  • Proven Exchange Online installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Network switch installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Firewall switch installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. (Ubiquiti, SonicWall, etc.)
  • Network WIFI installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Expert Windows 10 desktop support experience
  • Experience with PC imaging software
  • Familiar with Office 365 Suite
  • Ability to manage, motivate, mentor and train 1-2 junior desktop/help desk technicians.
  • Effectively communicate with “C” level executives, verbally and written
  • Assist in formulating and forecasting the annual IT budget.


Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with degree preferred in Computer Science or Information technology systems security or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years within the last twelve (12) years of experience in the field related to the title of the position.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification a plus.
- Knowledge of Information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) (certification preferred) with respect to security administration and information technology governance in a multi- platform environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in audio-visual, multimedia operations
  • Experience in establishing cybersecurity and risk metrics for reporting
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence with demonstrated sustained leadership in a large organization involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse people; effective oral and written communication skills.
