The Role

SPM Oil and Gas, A Caterpillar Company, is currently looking for an EHS Professional in Fort Worth, TX. As an EHS Professional, you will serve as an experienced, individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that are complex in nature and that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance

Job duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading environmental technical compliance for our SPM US locations
  • Champion our proactive EHS Excellence strategy, including strong focus on leading indicators throughout the division.
  • Identify safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establish guidelines for protection from those hazards
  • Keep up to date on new technologies or regulations; communicate technical information to facility management, dealers, customers, team members, suppliers and other units
  • Support and advise other EHS professionals, managers on Safety and Environmental topics
  • Develop relationships, gain understanding and execute solutions to meet our internal and external customer’s needs (manufacturing, field, office)
  • Monitors EHS performance and recommends priorities and actions for improvement.
  • Reviews new products, equipment, and processes for potential risks, environmental impacts and recommends modifications before introduction.
  • Collaborates with employees and supervisors to identify and mitigate EHS risks.
  • Develops standards and work practices with line personnel and monitors conformance through EHS inspections.
  • Assures compliance with organization and government EHS standards.
  • Performs EHS audits
  • Completes or reviews reports for submission to the EPA or OSHA
  • Environmental reporting, permitting and compliance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a technical curriculum such as Environmental, Health, and Safety or a scientific equivalent) and 4 to 7 years of EHS experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with environmental topics to include waste, stormwater, air, SPCC, SARA and TRI reporting

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Previous experience building and executing an EHS strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to evaluate and solve complex technical and cultural EHS related issues.
  • Strong analytical skills are essential
  • Requires a self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
  • Must have ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
