In this position, you will support the eMobility Group as a High Voltage System Controls engineer, which encompasses the HV PowerNet, active and passive HV systems. This individual will be supporting the control strategy (development of global features and functions for the HV system) for electrified powertrains ensuring implementation of NAFTA specific features into various ECUs, and cohesive software and network communication between components. Additional responsibilities include supporting the definition of system test, functional safety and sign off.

Position offers a starting salary range of $82,000 - $104,5000

What You Drive at DTNA
- Lead the high voltage systems & functions integration for our electric vehicle programs along with the HV System engineer
- Support companywide development and launch of electric mobility at Daimler Trucks.
- Development of HV PowerNet & Safety features and support HV system owner to ensure communication between all devices and ECUs is optimized.
- Responsible for HV software and controls, ensuring DTNA requirements and performance are fulfilled by global HV & ePowertrain software.
- Verify and develop HV features by participating in testing activities and workshops.
- Support initial commissioning and start up of new electric test trucks
- Provide engineering support to vehicle production team to resolve manufacturing process issues related to HV systems.
- Stay current on electric vehicle technology developments. Generate new ideas and methods for optimizing vehicle design, systems, and processes.
- Broaden your expertise outside of your immediate responsibilities and become an expert in eMobility topics and become an expert in eMobility.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or computer science with focus on electrical, controls or related engineering field and 2-5 years of related experience
- Experience with vehicle networks, CAN, communication protocols, and software.
- Experience with the design of embedded systems, especially controls
- Ability to work on cross-functional international teams to implement software & control requirements.
- Passion for electrification of vehicles and inventing the future of transportation
- Must be well-organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks, and work professionally with various levels of DTNA management.
- Customer orientated with a passion to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and, oral and written communication skills.
- Moderate travel as needed (5-20%).
- Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change

Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Experience with Vector tools, Matlab , Simulink
- General electronics/mechatronics troubleshooting experience
- Languages: English (fluent); German (Intermediate) preferred; additional language(s) appreciated
