FUNCTION: The hot plant operator performs various duties within an asphalt plant to ensure operations run safely and efficiently. Maintains excellent housekeeping around the plant by shoveling, performs repairs as needed to plant equipment and performs preventative maintenance in order to keep the plant running.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Perform plant inspections, diagnose problems, and perform preventative plant maintenance.
• Maintain and service production machinery.
• Replace and adjust machine wear parts.
• Light metal fabricating and other tasks as delegated.
• Maintain tools as required to perform job.
• Maintain safe work environment.
• All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Exceptional problem solving, and technical skills
• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience a plus.
• Must be safety conscious and have a good safety record.
• Must be proficient in the use of pneumatic and hand tools.
• Must be dependable, self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical repairs would be helpful.
• Forklift experience helpful.
• Good communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
