We are excited to share this opportunity as the Hotel Manager for 2 privately held and neighboring boutique hotels in Northern California. Both unique hotels have food, beverage, and restaurant components. This is a leadership role and is key in leading the team, connecting with the community and a trusted resource to this family business. The two hotels, Stock Farm Inn and Thatcher Hotel are the anchors to the tow and hosts travelers, locals and true adventurers seeking beauty, nature and wine country retreats.
The Hotel Manager will hold primary responsibility for ensuring the hotels, bar and restaurants and guests experiences are thoughtfully managed.

The Location:
Both hotels are in downtown Hopland, just 90 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge,
15 minutes from the quaint town of Cloverdale and 15 minutes from neighboring Ukiah.
The location of the hotel provides a unique rural experience, while being part of a historic revival of a small town and yet, attracting visitors from around the world.

The Role:
This hotel manager is the person in charge of the hospitality, events, and operations, that include the ownership of hiring and development of entire hospitality staff, event management team, front desk, and back of house (maintenance, laundry) of all respective entities. Responsible for all aspects of operations of the hotel group, to day- to-day staff management and guests. An ambassador for the Thatcher and Stock Farm experience. Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction. Work very closely with the owners and other key stake holders. Responsible for managing the management team and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent guest experience. This position is also required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures.

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee the hospitality operations of the Thatcher. Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.

Maximizing room yield and hotels / resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs. Ensure the hotel is always “guest ready” and that the experience is aligned with the vision of the Thatcher.

  • Design, implement and manage compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards. Hold regular meetings with team and the owners. Prepare a monthly financial reporting for the owners and stake holders. Draw up plans and budget (revenues, costs, etc.) for the owners. Determine best systems to use for reservations and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management.

Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget. Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.

  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies. Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings. Draft and deliver hotel budget goals and set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the property.

Closely monitor business reports daily and take decisions accordingly. Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.

Hospitality, Sales & Event Leadership:

  • Participate in aspects of sales business planning and marketing for Thatcher and

Stockk Farm (rooms, events, etc.)

  • Create an environment of sales for events, and accommodations. Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
  • Handle complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures.

People Leadership:

  • Act as a final decision maker in hiring key staff members. Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with all employees daily. Provide effective leadership to hotel team members. Manage and develop the Hotel, food & beverage and restaurant teams.
  • Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).

Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements. Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.

  • Available to lead when needed, including key events, weekends, holidays, and nights.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, ideal requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities that would help an individual succeed in this position:

  • High integrity, respect for others and effective leadership skills that naturally develops trust and connection with others
  • A minimum of 5 years’ hospitality and/or F&B management experience in a high service standards and volume restaurant.
  • Experience with P&L preferred.
  • Experience with managing special events preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required, knowledge of reservations systems and POS systems (webres pro, square, POS Lavu, and Microsoft Applications) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, to include AM and PM shifts as well as weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhering to all OSHA, federal, state and local health department regulations.
  • Strong consultative skills and the ability to achieve corporate business objectives across functional boundaries
  • Must have good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Advanced English ability, verbal and written required. Spanish as a second language helpful.
  • This full-time position is a mix of base salary and bonus structure. We are seeking a candidate that is motivated and driven to increase overall sales at all properties and offer incredible guests experiences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
