POSITION DESCRIPTION: SENIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE/SHIFT LEADER

Examples of work performed:

• Act as lead customer service crew member for the morning (usually, 11 am to 5 pm).
• Train and lead crew by example in:
• Greeting customers as they enter the Treatery with smiles and enthusiasm and in explaining how the Treatery works (telling the MaggieMoo “story”).
• Taking orders from customers in a friendly manner, up-selling the order whenever possible.
• Preparing orders efficiently and accurately using appropriate types and amounts of ingredients.
• Checking customers out at point-of-sale register, handling cash, credit card, or coupon transactions with accuracy and care.

• Ensure crew members arrive as scheduled and have clean, complete uniforms (hat/visor, t-shirt, name tag, and apron). If a crew member calls in sick or cannot work, ensure that they have found a replacement. Conduct daily scoop tests with crew.
• Train and work with crew to keep Treatery clean and ready to serve customers using required checklists. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning glass and counter surfaces, cleaning tables, picking up trash, cutting fresh fruit, washing and refilling mix-in containers, washing dishes, restocking paper supplies, cleaning restrooms, mopping floors, emptying trash, rotating ice cream pans, etc.
• Act as head cashier during assigned shift to include opening and closing the register, preparing accounting and sales reports, and making deposits at and obtaining change from bank.
• Coordinate sanitary and accurate production of all ice cream products at Treatery including pans, pints, quarts, and cakes. Prepare and decorate cakes and cupcakes as required.
• Assist in taking weekly inventory and receiving shipments. If necessary, go to the grocery store to buy items in short supply for the day’s business.
• Accept/review job applications and handle customer complaints.
• Work with crew to ensure timely and proper preparation of food items as needed: waffle cones and bowls, ice cream cakes, cupcakes, etc.
• Prepare for catering events as required.
• Attend all employee meetings or training sessions as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 months prior experience in customer service required; experience handling cash for a business preferred.
• Must be able to lift cases of food product weighing 50 pounds or more, continuously bend over cabinets and scoop ice cream, operate knives and mixing machines, reach the top of shelves to get product, supplies, and equipment, work around cold and hot surfaces, and stand on feet for long periods of time.
• Must have flexible hours to be available to work Monday to Friday and, if agreed/necessary, weekends a minimum of 25 hours per week.
• Must have reliable transportation during a shift to go to the bank, grocery store, etc. as needed.
• Employees must be 18 years of age or older.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
