The Opportunity:

Are you a capable and motivated IT professional who is proficient in the principles, concepts, and methodologies used in web development? Do you have hands-on development experience with Drupal? If so, we are interested in having you join our Information Technology (IT) division’s Application Development team as a Drupal Web Application Developer.

As a Drupal Web Application Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of DCYF websites and applications along with the organization and classification of web content, web development, and implementation of website updates on the DCYF internet and intranet. This position works closely with the DCYF Communications office implementing projects requested by DCYF program areas for design, layout, and publication.

Some of what you will get to do:
  • Performs analysis, design, development, maintenance, programming, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for large complex websites.
  • Designs and develops websites, pages, web access to stand-alone databases, and other web tools requested by the agency
  • Updates and upgrades Drupal core and associated modules
  • Creates user interfaces and integrate third-party products and web services
  • Installs and configures Drupal on IIS on Windows
  • Works with Drupal Core API’s
  • Evaluates the impact on the layout, navigation, and overall site design when updating web content
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or business/public administration.

OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years.

AND

Three (3) years of hands-on development experience with Drupal 7, 8, or 9 and five (5) years of professional web development experience.

In addition to the required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
  • Strong experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, PHP, MySQL.
  • Knowledge of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Knowledge and development skills of responsive web design and accessible web development
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Prior experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in UX/UI design and prototype development.
  • Able to identify, troubleshoot, and triage issues such as performance issues affecting the website and identify root causes and solve them in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team to identify and resolve complex issues.
