Summary:
- Follows established procedures and evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens for analysis
- Performs complex analytical tests or procedures, recognizes deviations from expected results, and takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision
- Recognize factors that affect measurements and results, analyzes QC data, makes judgements concerning results, takes appropriate corrective action
- Operates and maintain equipment, recognizes equipment malfunction, troubleshoot and repair as necessary
- Schedules staff, organizes workload, and assigns duties to staff
- Notifies staff and finds replacements for employee call ins, ensuring minimum staffing needs are maintained
- Monitors TAT for the Corelab
- Maintains department in accordance with CAP and other appropriate regulatory agencies and ensures staff compliance
- Works with internal and external customers on problem resolution
- Orients new personnel to the department
- Monitors inventory control processes to ensure supply availability and cost containment
- Conducts daily department safety huddles and meetings with staff
- Supports administrative and laboratory policies and procedures. Ensures that employees are informed and understand changes
- Oversees and participates in the training, mentoring, and evaluation of students
- Participates in the formation of annual goals
- Assigns and submit results for proficiency testing
- Performs initial, 6-month, and annual competencies for staff
- Provide assistance to LabCorp staff with reference samples
Requirements: MT (ASCP) and 4-5 years laboratory experience.
