The Language Arts (LA) Instructor and Job Coach will contribute to the Community Educational Outreach (CEO) team. CEO provides opportunities for those facing barriers to meeting their employment and educational goals. CEO is committed to fostering a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for both staff and students.

Schedule

8:15 am – 5:15 pm Monday – Thursday

Location

Intervention Community Corrections Services (ICCS) in Henderson, CO. This position is in person at our partner site, a residential facility for men and women.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree
• Applicants must have an Adult Basic Education Authorization, or be willing to work toward and obtain the authorization within 3 years of employment http://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeadult/liaindex

The job duties of the Adult Education Instructors include, but are not limited to the following:

LA Classroom Responsibilities:

• Able to teach high school level LA according to TABE and GED tests
• Skilled at independently managing a non-traditional classroom environment
• Aptitude for teaching students in individual and group settings
• Able to provide individualized and multi-level adult basic education, GED test preparation, employment, and computer instruction
• Ability to problem solve and handle challenging situations while remaining calm
• Interest in effectively connecting and working with a wide range of students
• Maintain positive communication and interaction with partner facility staff, CEO staff, volunteers, and students

Job Readiness Coach Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to clients seeking job resources in the computer lab
• Assist clients with computer skills
• Communicate effectively and proactively with learners and case managers
• Attend weekly case management meetings and monthly CEO staff meetings
• Assist in creating resumes and cover letters
• Conduct practice interviews
• Assist students with career exploration and goal setting

Pay: $41,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
