Here at Climb North, we have been sharing our love for the sport of rock climbing with the Pittsburgh community for 30 years. Now, we are looking for a general manager with strong leadership and customer service abilities to continue that tradition.
The general manager will provide a framework that encourages the growth and development of the Climb North community as well as the profitability of the business. The general manager will provide a safe and welcoming environment for employees, members, and guests.
Responsibilities of the general manager:
- Overseeing and conducting personnel management functions including, hiring, training, promoting, disciplining, terminating, evaluating performances, and providing feedback
- Create and manage employee schedules, adherence to payroll budgets, classes, and special events
- Payroll and timeclock management
- Maintain a high level of service expected by Climb North’s members and guests
- Ensure the facility and staff are adhering to Risk Management and Safety Protocols
- Develop, perform and delegate recommended improvements and operating standards of facility and cleanliness of facilities
- Create and disseminate promotional materials by email and social media
- Develop, implement, and track lesson plans for children and adults
- Oversee competitive climbing team
- Ability to teach youth and adults basic climbing skills as well as the ability to climb
- Oversee and assist in route setting
- Use Rock Gym Pro to track and analyze gym use to inform management decisions
- Additional general manager responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to ensure all proper facility operations are met.
Qualifications:
- Experience managing a small business, athletic facility, or other management experience
- Experience rock climbing and route setting
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well with children and pass all necessary background requirements to do
- Strong time management skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer and social media skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- CPR/First Aid certifications highly desired
