Mental Health Clinician
Part-Time - 24 hrs. per week
In-Person at the PARS Equality office in Los Angeles
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director
Pars Equality Center’s mission is to catalyze social, civic, and economic integration of immigrants from Persian-speaking and other underrepresented communities into American society. PARS in 501c(3) nonprofit organization.
Eligibility:
Master’s level degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy
Licensed MFT or LCSW by the state of California or Assigned an Intern status MFTI or ASW
Bilingual: fluent in both English/ Persian- Dari languages
Job requirements:
· Individual/ Couple / Family consultation.
· Facilitate weekly support group.
· Conduct monthly psycho-educational workshop/seminar.
· Outreach and engage newly arriving refugees and Afghan refugees in mental health services.
· Provide clinical/non-clinical mental health services to eligible refugees within Los Angeles County.
· Ensure and document all eligible refugee and Afghan participants to meet eligibility requirements.
· Provide client-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally and linguistically centered peer, community mental health worker counseling, or clinical counseling where culturally and linguistically appropriate services are unavailable.
· Screen participants with the Refugee Health Screening (RHS)-15 tool for emotional distress and mental health on intake and at 3-months after program initiation. Maintain record of screenings.
· Provide referral and coordination of care for mental health treatment with client consent. Coordination of care can include accompanying clients to appointments to improve mental health treatment engagement and reduce stigma surrounding mental health and providing interpreting support.
· Provide services for relationship-building among refugee and Afghan arrivals to overcome feelings of isolation.
· Maintain activities and services log of services provided for each individual.
· Prepare reports and necessary indicators of services rendered.
· Meet with assigned project team member monthly or as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
