Job Summary


This position exists to provide administrative support for the President and Provost of Southwest Minnesota State University.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office and other pertinent systems.
  • Management and importance of dealing with confidential information.

This position requires skill in:

  • Written and oral communications.
  • Customer service and interpersonal communication

This position requires the ability to:

  • Represent the University professionally to all constituencies.
  • Manage multiple priorities and to plan ahead.
  • Function in an open office environment and to interact with a variety of people on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a higher education setting.
  • Experience with policy/procedure development, interpretation, and/or application.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting and accounting.
  • Knowledge of University and Minnesota State policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work with persons of other cultures, countries, and ethnic races.

Additional Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
