MDX is responsible for the development and deployment of SBD's Manufacturing and Distribution Excellence with a specific focus on driving lean transformation of all manufacturing and distribution locations. The Operational Excellence Support Team is part of the lean deployment team that provides oversight and engagement of key aspects of SPS tied to business outcomes. The Operational Excellence Engineer is responsible for engaging with the operations team in active implementation of SBD operating systems to drive KPI impact and cultural transformation.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the deployment of methods for improving worker efficiency which includes restructuring of job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment & systems.
  • Leads the implementation of Lean standard tools and concepts within operations such as 5S, Visual-Management, Standard Work, Kaizen events program, SMED, Flow, Poka-Yoke, PDCA, TPM, etc.
  • Manages projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success
  • Ability to review/assess operational data and implement action plans to address gaps
  • Ability to understand operational KPI's to determine appropriate responses to address gaps
  • Drives the engagement of the SBD operating system at the site level
  • Facilitates training sessions as needed

Skills & Qualifications:


  • BS degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of experience within a related field.
  • Masters or MBA preferred
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes, productions planning, TPM, PPAP and CTQ methodologies
  • Lean / CI methodologies experience in operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or other project management certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Teams.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time depending on home location, including manufacturing environments and distribution centers.
