RJE Telecom, LLC, a dynamic, cutting edge telecommunications engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer for the Abingdon, VA area. The OSP Engineer is responsible for the design, pricing and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities. This involves all aspects of OSP Engineering, including pole replacement, customer and road relocations, new service order build outs, Ethernet, FTTx, etc.
This position requires both field and home office work. Candidate must live in or be willing to travel to the Abingdon, VA area.

What you'll do:
- You will be responsible for work order packet creation which includes field notes, drafting in NDS and creating construction prints
- You will work with municipalities to acquire permits, ROW, etc.
- You will develop plans for new plant construction and/or upgrading existing construction plant
- You will monitor the project(s) during early and late stages of design and construction
- You will ensure the most cost-effective solution is being utilized
- You will monitor and control project expenditures
- You will be the face of the customer and have positive interactions with internal and external customers
Qualifications:
Who we are looking for...
- Brightspeed/Lumen/CenturyLink experience is a plus
- NDS, WFMT, MARTENS, GLM, ARMOR, TIRKS experience is a plus
- You have 1-2 years design experience in the telecom industry with a high focus on fiber technology
- You have working knowledge of CAD applications
- You are proficient in Microsoft and G suite platforms
- You are self-motivated and energetic
- You have outside plant knowledge (fiber and copper build, FTTx, pole line construction)
- You have a technical background
- You are able to read and interpret DOT plans, be able to identify any conflicts with the existing facilities and find resolution in the most cost-effective way
- You are willing to travel within the customers territory
