Job description
Responsibilities:
- Enforces state and local laws
- Ensure the safety and security of the public by responding to emergencies, aiding victims, and reducing or preventing involvement in crime
- Build relationships and contribute to the health and safety of the community
- Create community awareness by using crime prevention methods or intervention initiatives
- Conduct investigations by interviewing suspects, witnesses, and collecting evidence at crime scenes
- Participate in and testify at court hearings
- Process incident reports with accurate detail and information.
- Safely operate various police equipment and vehicles
Requirements:
- Willing to submit to required background checks
- Willing to maintain required certifications and attend continuing education
- Valid driving license
- A high school degree is required, college degree preferred
- Pennsylvania Act 120 certification is required at the time of hire
- Open to working various shifts such as evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
- Ability to stay calm in stressful or high-risk situations, and deescalate volatile situations
- Sound judgment, and practical decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capability and desire to work collaboratively with a wide range of people
- Strong negotiation and adjudicating skills
- Developed analysis skills for researching and investigating
- Excellent knowledge of standard operating procedures, judicial procedures, civil and constitutional laws
- Knowledge and skills of law enforcement principles and practices
- Adequate interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Responsibility, dependability, honesty, and integrity
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
