AV Product Specialist

AV.com is looking for an exceptional product specialist to help curate, launch and manage daily responsibilities of its new house brand, covering all AV products, including home cinema, hi-fi, furniture, and accessories.

AV.com was launched in January 2022 by Gear4music Limited, a leading online retailer of musical instruments and music equipment with over 500 staff and revenues of £150m. Using our state-of-the-art worldwide ecommerce platform, and of course your brilliant talent, we are also intent on becoming a market leader in the AV market.

Who you are

Our ideal applicant will have a love of all things that are related to home entertainment products. You may already work in the industry, or you may have transferable commercial experience from another sector and AV is your passion outside of the working environment. You will already be aware of the newest products that are being launched and have a strong commercial awareness. You will have an innovative and entrepreneurial mind-set, with an ability to build long term objectives and solutions. You will have the drive and self-motivation to work autonomously, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a talented resource team to maximise your objectives. Either way, you will be someone whose product knowledge can be relied on.

What you will do

Our mission to become a leader in the HiFi and home audio visual equipment market. Working at the R&D office in York, your initial task will be working within our product team to launch a new and exciting brand. To do this successfully, you will need to help identify market trends to inform new product ranges, work with new and existing factories on sourcing and development, and ensure correct commercial decision making to successfully bring exciting new products to market. From there, you will research new trends and gaps in the market and attend international trade shows, to develop new lines of products to run alongside existing ranges, ensuring AV.com is always offering a competitive and excellent range of products.

• 
  Exceptional knowledge of AV and home entertainments products and their markets
• Experience working in a product development and/or buyer role
• A passion for their products with a strong, demonstrable understanding of how they are put together and the nuances that can make products distinctive
• A willingness to learn and continue to innovate
• An inquisitive entrepreneurial mind-set with the capability to think of new innovative commercial ideas
• Clear and efficient communication as you will frequently be liaising with overseas factories
• Organised, excellent time management and prioritisation skills
• A proactive approach who can deliver against multiple deadlines
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
• International experience would be beneficial

You will be required to attend international trade shows & visits to manufacturer sites
