TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This position supports the daily operation of the Residential New Construction program offered by the NJ Clean Energy Program. You perform a variety of processing activities supporting energy consultants, installation partners, and customers on energy efficiency projects. You support project creation, verify documents, and perform accurate and timely reviews of projects and payment of project rebates.

You operate across several computer-based programs and multiple dashboard queues to assure that projects are updated based on daily responses from contractors and customers. You validate contractor/customer reports to ensure accountability and project timelines. You must be able to work within a multi-faceted environment to meet both project and program goals and objectives. Your ability to accurately assess various types of submittals ensures applications progress according to standards and specifications.

This position offers a hybrid working model allowing some time to be worked remotely and the rest out of the TRC's New Brunswick, NJ office.

Candidates with residency in the State of New Jersey are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or other Program Management software to progress energy efficiency applications through required milestones and interact across functional areas to ensure timely responses to customers and program partners.
  • Raise issues and exceptions to appropriate levels for resolution.
  • Provide insight on how to improve program design and processing for better overall delivery and value.
  • Ensure outstanding customer and contractor satisfaction.
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship by TRC.
  • Academic and/or professional experience displaying a strong interest in sustainability, green building, or energy efficiency.
  • Previous experience in Energy efficiency programs.
  • Business acumen which includes a working knowledge and understanding of functions required to provide sound program support, including, but not limited to, the ability to understand context, be able to “read the room”, and possess situational awareness.
  • Aptitude for Microsoft Office and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to each.
  • Ability to work with Excel workbooks and to create and upload documents and files.
  • Strong data entry and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures.
  • Comfort with fast changing work priorities and multitasking.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, and client-focused.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Competitive applicants will demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, planning, environmental science, natural resource management, or construction management is preferred.
  • Three plus years of experience supporting customer programs.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining customer, client, and partner relationships with a high level of satisfaction.
  • Professional presence with desire to improve processes and exceed program savings goals.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse customers and contractors effectively and respectfully.
