What this job is about:
The One Washington program is tasked with modernizing and integrating the state’s core enterprise finance, procurement, budget and human capital management functions. It is the largest information technology project in the state’s history and must deliver a business transformation that takes the state away from outdated technology and paper-based processes into a world where data is live and on-demand.

As the Lead IT Project Scheduler, you will work closely with the One Washington project teams and central project management office (PMO) to develop, maintain, and support the project schedule. To accomplish this, it may include internal program workstream schedules or remediations schedules for 200+ impacted agency-owned systems. Additionally, you will assist by monitoring, tracking, analyzing, recommending, and escalating issues on the schedule plan to include dependencies and critical paths.

Compensation:
The starting salary range for this position is $85,008 - $114,000, depending on qualifications. To allow for growth and salary progression over time in this role, the full salary range is $85,008 - $118,716.

Duties

What will you be doing?


  • Develop comprehensive schedules in collaboration with the program team, project managers, project leads, and key resources from impacted agencies.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure schedule comprehensiveness and accuracy.
  • Develop effective and clear project plans to support the program’s schedule management strategy and enable consistent tracking and reporting the workstream activities.
  • Prepare slide deck presentations for staffing meetings and stakeholder engagements, and update project schedule as needed.
  • Regularly track, analyze, evaluate, and report information, including a weekly report.
  • Coordinate project schedules, tasks, meeting updates and efficient distribution of schedule reports.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor scope of work for control and integrity.
  • Analyze trends and track schedule findings, identify areas for improvement, and elevate risks or issues as needed.
  • Log and monitor risk and issues, ensuring effective management and minimizing of impacts on schedule.
  • Perform cross-functional workstream coordination, identify project issues, and monitor action items.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of direct experience with coordination, scheduling, and identification of all long-term, mid-term and near-term project or program milestones.
  • Strong background and experience with schedule analysis to include defining and analyzing the critical path.
  • Experience assisting with development of integrated master schedules. Expert level proficiency in MS Project or other project management specific software for file development, maintenance, updates, and reporting. Experience with MS SharePoint, MS Excel and Jira. Experience using Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) tools and processes.
  • Experience facilitating and coordinating with all working groups including the program management staff in various technical programs to ensure that schedules and expectations are completed in a timely manner. Ability to coordinate between multiple projects and consolidating multiple project schedules, defined goals, objectives, deliverables, and associated timelines.
  • Experience with drafting status reports and defining and gathering requirements.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment of contractor, vendor, state government resources.

Desired Qualifications
  • Five years of experience with project scheduling.
  • Four years of experience facilitating teams through complex and challenging topics working towards positive resolution.
  • Two years of experience with re-platforming and system modernization efforts.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning system implementation.
  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree, and five years of direct experience with coordination, scheduling, and identification of all long-term, mid-term and near-term project or program milestones.
