Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Enterprise Risk Officer in Strategic Enterprise Risk Management (SERM) as part of the Enterprise Issue Management Policy & Execution team. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com .

Strategic Enterprise Risk Management (SERM), part of Independent Risk Management, is primarily responsible for leading enterprise risk programs, governance, and infrastructure. The function provides an aggregated, integrated, and holistic view and understanding of Wells Fargo's combined risks and helps the company address those risks.




In this role, you will:
  • Partner with peers, managers, and other stakeholders, and leverage subject matter expertise to prepare responses to requests and inquiries from bank examiners and regulators.
  • Provide oversight and interpretation of program requirements, partnering with stakeholders to resolve complex questions and areas of ambiguity
  • Develop and implement monitoring routines to confirm appropriate application of program requirements
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet risk area, projects, and process deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of the risk policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Guide and direct the organization in terms of policies, effectiveness of companywide initiative execution, and reporting to the Board
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Partner with managers to coordinate risk reporting to executive management, committees, and Board of Directors
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Management experience (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience monitoring and providing oversight for risk-based governance programs
  • Knowledge of issue management practices, procedures, policy, and lifecycle
  • Experience preparing responses for inquiries from bank examiners and domestic regulators
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and consultation skills with the ability to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
