FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
POSITION OBJECTIVE :
Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students; reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office.- Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students, which may include: identifying safety violations; diffusing situations among students; reinforcing positive social behavior
- Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE : (positions in this class typically require):
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS : (positions in this class typically require):
- Ability to complete Crossing Guard training.
KNOWLEDGE : (position requirements at entry):
- Basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures;
SKILLS : (position requirements at entry):
- Recognizing potential security risks;
- Providing customer service;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
NOTE :
Return To Work Retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 9% lower than listed below without falling below minimum wage.
