Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Academic Program Coordinator for the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). This position will provide assistance and support to enhance the experience of undergraduate students in the Departments of Cell Biology & Neuroscience, Genetics, and Molecular Biology & Biochemistry within the School of Arts and Sciences. The incumbent will work in the Division of Life Sciences-Office of Undergraduate Instruction reporting to the Director of Advising. This position will work in close collaboration with the Undergraduate Directors of the Departments of Cell Biology & Neuroscience, Genetics as well as Molecular Biology & Biochemistry.

- Advises undergraduate students intending to major in these three Departments to help them resolve course registration issues, plan schedules to ensure the timely completion of the chosen course of study and assist the Undergraduate Directors with senior certifications.
- Responsible for implementing events and programs and generally supporting students in attaining their educational and career goals.
- Works under general supervision, within established work parameters, with few direct instructions.
- Carries out routine and non-routine tasks with occasional review of work outputs by supervisor.
- Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management principles and practices and a good understanding, use, and application of concepts.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Minimum Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a social or life science field.
- Two years of relevant experience in academic counseling/advisement; or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- Familiarity with Rutgers computing programs including Canvas and Degree Navigator.
- Experience with student services.
- Familiarity with at least some social media platforms.
Equipment Utilized
- Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, and Degree Navigator are used in a daily capacity in desktop, laptop, and mobile platforms.
