The Opportunity

We’re looking for an additional Director of Strategic Accounts, to help drive sales and build relationships with Financial Professionals selling MassMutual Investments in the Defined Contribution Investment Only “DCIO” channel. You’ll be joining the MassMutual Investments Strategic Account and Consultant Relationships team in promoting, positioning, and selling MassMutual Investments, Stable Value & CIT offerings to the Consultant, Broker Dealer, Fiduciary, Record Keeper and Aggregator marketplace.

The Impact:

  • Drive forward a full-circle rotation approach to home office due diligence relationships with key Strategic Account firms
  • Initiate and facilitate conversations around investment related themes and Investment product, while managing information flow and pipeline process for home office strategic placements
  • Position and differentiate the firm’s investment solutions and management style utilizing a consultative process during presentations and industry/association conferences
  • Develop Tiers of Focus firms, build an actionable strategic plan for each key Strategic Account firm
  • Develop high quality and longstanding relationships with research departments to insure the inclusion of MassMutual Investments and Stable Value products
  • Work in support of broader business objectives in close conjunction with Strategic Account team members, DCIO Field Sales & Internal Sales Support; Key Investment team members as well as Marketing and compliance team members.
  • Identify RFI/RFP opportunities and leverage support teams to respond in a timely manner with high standards of quality
  • Meet a minimum target number of client meetings and rotation per quarter
  • Utilize Plan Champion value adds to build relationships and partnerships, to drive sales and increase activity with field team

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years in finance
  • 5+ years of institutional investment sales or client management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in defined contribution
  • 2+ years of experience presenting to C-suite leadership
  • FINRA registered - Series 6 & 63 required. Candidates will need to obtain a Series 7 within 180 days.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time

  • Strategic thinker with ability to influence, execute and flex as needed to support a growing business unit and meet organizational goals
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner in any format
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment principles
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team
  • Strong Team Player - Flexible and adaptable with ability to thrive in dynamic fast paced environment willing to focus on enterprise interests
  • Exceptionally strong organizational and time management skills

Compensation Range

  • $150k -$175k, plus sales-based incentive opportunity (targeted at appx 50-60% of total wages)
