Student Affairs at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Programs Coordinator in Student Involvement to advise the student programming board (the University Program Council) on developing, planning, coordinating, promoting, delivering, and assessing a wide variety of student-focused events and programs for the student body.

Essential Functions
- Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Advise students on event planning and execution;
- Guide students in following all university policies and procedures;
- Provide oversight and comprehensive guidance to the various student programming committees within the University Program Council which is Auburn’s student programming board
- Advise approximately 80 student leaders in coordinating successful events;
- Assist students with event-related issues including but not limited to planning, publicity, production, business matters, and /or problem resolution;
- Manage event contracts and other business processes;
- Assist students with budget preparation and management;
- Serve as a resource to students and staff from other student organizations and campus partners on event planning best practices;
- Assess and implement risk management best practices;
- Evaluate and assess campus activities and needs;
- Provide intentional retention efforts for Auburn University;
- Participate in staff trainings and meetings;
- Participate on committees and other programs promoting Student Affairs;
- Supervise a graduate student staff member when available and numerous student leaders;
- Oversee recurring late-night events and occasional weekend events with physical presence;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field
Level I: Bachelor’s degree
Level II: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or a related field
Level III : Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or a related field
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
Graduate degrees accepted in lieu of experience requirement for advanced levels
Level I: Bachelor’s degree
Level II: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or a related field
Level III : Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or a related field

- Prior advising experience with student-run programs and/or organizations;
- Contract management experience in an events setting;
- Budgeting experience;
- Demonstrated leadership in initiating and implementing educational programming among student groups/organizations;
- Basic to intermediate understanding of student programming boards in a university setting;
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Personnel Services or a related field.
